NICU Registered Nurse — Longmont, CO

13-Week Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This Level 2 NICU/Nursery operates within an LDRP model, caring for neonates with a range of conditions including hypoglycemia, mild respiratory distress, prematurity, phototherapy needs, IV antibiotic therapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. NICU RNs attend both C-sections and vaginal deliveries, focusing on newborn stabilization and resuscitation. Nurses may also be asked to care for stable postpartum mothers and babies; candidates without mother-baby experience must be willing to cross-train, as the facility will provide that instruction.

Schedule & Logistics

  • 12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM)
  • 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week block schedule; leadership sets the schedule, and travelers are expected to fill coverage gaps
  • Holiday rotation participation may be required
  • Low-census call/standby is rare
  • Float potential to a sister facility approximately 26 miles away based on census or staffing need
  • A valid driver's license must be on file; candidates must be in state for the week of orientation
  • All time-off requests must be submitted before the assignment begins

Orientation

1–3 preceptored shifts on unit

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
  • Active RN license (Colorado or compact)
  • BLS (AHA) and NRP required
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • BSN not required

Contract Details

  • Guaranteed 36 hours/week
  • Scrubs provided (hospital blue)
