Emergency Department RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced RN for its Emergency Department, a fast-paced combined adult/pediatric unit serving a diverse patient population across all age groups—adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Shift & Schedule

  • 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must cover 2 of 3 major upcoming holidays
  • No on-call
  • Float to other units as needed
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • California RN license
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience
  • BSN preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Valid license at time of submission

Clinical Scope

You'll manage patients with complex presentations including dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, sepsis, and post-operative complications. Core responsibilities include:

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Central line care and management
  • Continuous IV sedation and vasopressor administration
  • BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Arterial blood gas interpretation
  • Ventilator care
  • and emergency stabilization
