Surgical Technologist (CST) — Operating Room

Rochester, NY | Mid Shift: 4x10-Hour (13:00–23:30) | 13-Week Contract

This OR position supports a high-volume, multi-service surgical department managing 40–60 cases daily across a broad range of specialties. Candidates must bring versatility and confidence across numerous surgical disciplines.

Clinical Scope

The OR team covers 12+ service lines, including:

• Bariatric surgery (gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, lap band)
• Vascular (aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, femoral-popliteal bypass)
• ENT (laryngoscopy, radical neck dissection, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy)
• General surgery (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy)
• Gynecology (BTL, D&C, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, colporrhaphy)
• Neurosurgery/spine (craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, XLIF, VP shunt)
• Orthopedics (total hip and knee replacement, fracture reduction, bunionectomy)
• Robotic and minimally invasive colorectal surgery
• Thoracic (VATS, mediastinoscopy)
• Urology (cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, TURP, ureteroscopy, lithotripsy)

Requirements

• Active CST certification (NBSTSA); NY State license required and in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 4 years of surgical technologist experience; prior travel experience required
• Charting system experience required
• Floating between areas required
• Call: 6 shifts per 8-week block, including weekends and holidays
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Scrubs provided
