Outpatient Radiation Oncology RN | Los Angeles, CA | Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This outpatient radiation oncology role is a great fit for a Med-Surg RN with oncology interest looking to work in a structured, Monday–Friday clinic environment with no weekends, no on-call, and no floating required.

Shift & Schedule

  • Days, 5×8-hour shifts (08:00–16:30)
  • No scheduling requests accommodated — flexibility required
  • No weekends, no on-call

The Role

You'll be working in a busy outpatient radiation oncology clinic serving approximately 50 adult patients daily. Core responsibilities include:

  • Starting peripheral IVs and performing venipuncture
  • Patient and family education related to radiation therapy and side effects
  • Triaging patient calls and monitoring for medication side effects
  • Wound care and skin integrity assessment (skin wound care experience preferred)
  • Supporting patients undergoing external beam and image-guided radiation therapy

The unit is backed by interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response, social services, interpretation services, and IV teams.

Requirements

  • Active, permanent California RN license (no temp or pending licenses accepted)
  • Minimum 3 years Med-Surg RN experience; radiation oncology experience preferred
  • BLS required; OCN certification highly preferred; ACLS preferred
  • Influenza vaccine required — no exemptions
  • 2 supervisor-level references from within the past year required at submission
