Oncology Registered Nurse – Outpatient Radiation Department
Position Overview
The facility's outpatient radiation department is seeking an experienced Oncology RN to join a fast-paced clinic serving approximately 50 patients daily. You'll provide direct patient care, education, and support in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- No weekends, no floating, no on-call
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture
- Provide patient education and incoming calls
- Assess and manage wound care
- Monitor for radiation therapy side effects (nausea, fatigue, skin integrity, neuropathy)
- Collaborate with IV teams, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years oncology RN experience (medical-surgical oncology experience acceptable)
- Active California RN License (no pending or temporary licenses)
- BLS certification required
- ONC (Oncology Nursing Certification) preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Clinical Setting
You'll work in an outpatient oncology environment managing adult patients undergoing external beam radiation therapy and image-guided radiation therapy. The unit includes 6 clinic rooms and sees approximately 50 visits daily.
Submission Requirements
- Two professional references (supervisor level or higher) from the past year
- Valid, active California RN license at time of application
- Detailed written statement for any license or background findings
