Operating Room Nurse – Travel Assignment
Position Overview
The facility's main operating room is seeking an experienced OR nurse for a day shift assignment. You'll work across multiple surgical specialties in a busy, 16-room surgical suite with an average daily census of 35 patients.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 4x10-hour days, 06:30–17:00
- Contract: 8 weeks
- Call Requirements: 7–8 calls per 8-week period, including 1 weekend call and 2–3 weekday night shifts
- Weekends: 2–3 weekend shifts per 8-week schedule (in-house or on-call)
- Time Off: Maximum 7 days RTO; blackout dates include Spring Break (April 4–12)
- Holiday Commitment: If major holidays fall during your assignment, you may be required to work
Clinical Scope
You'll circulate and scrub across general surgery, neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, urology, vascular, and colorectal cases. Procedures include craniotomies, fusions (ALIF, XLIF, lumbar), joint replacements, carotid interventions, robotic-assisted surgeries, and more.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year OR experience (circulate and scrub)
- Current BLS certification
- GA or Compact RN license
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
What to Know
- Floating within the OR as needed
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Clinical pre-screening required; manager approval follows
- All compliance documentation due by Tuesday before your start date
- Orientation includes facility-specific modules (non-billable hours included)
