Medical-Surgical RN – Travel Contract | Seneca, SC
Days | 13-Week Contract | Start: October 2026
This Medical-Surgical unit cares for an adult and geriatric population managing a broad range of diagnoses, including respiratory illness, infectious disease, dementia, and neurological conditions. The unit operates with a charge RN every shift and an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response.
Shift & Schedule
- Days, 3x12-hour shifts | 07:00–19:30
- Every other weekend (may vary based on census)
- Floating to other units/campuses is required based on census needs
Clinical Requirements
- MS/Tele competencies required; candidates must be prepared to float to Med-Surg/Telemetry floors
- EKG exam required prior to assignment start
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience preferred; strong candidates with 1+ year will be considered
Required Certifications & Licensure
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Active South Carolina RN license
Key Skills
- Central line and peripheral line care
- Heparin protocol and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Blood product administration, renal failure management
- Feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac
- Rapid Response/Code Team utilization
- Isolation precautions and oxygen administration
Important Notes
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
- Pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 hours reimbursable)
- Orientation held every Monday; 24 orientation hours total
- Distance eligibility requirements apply — confirm your mileage from the facility prior to submission
- Extensions are limited; travelers may not extend beyond three consecutive 13-week contracts
