Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology RN – 16-Week Contract
Shift & Schedule
Days: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Contract Length: 16 weeks

About the Role
You'll join a combined interventional radiology and cardiology department (85% IR / 15% cardiology). The team performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular procedures, electrophysiology device implants, and urgent/emergent IR cases. You'll rotate through all procedure types and support 24/7 STEMI and emergent case coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate for diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor telemetry and manage procedural sedation
- Start and maintain IVs; manage antiarrhythmic and antihypertensive medications
- Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias
- Support a three-person call team for urgent/emergent cases
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years cath lab and IR experience (required)
- Active RN license (NC or Compact; pending OK for submittal)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
- STEMI call experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Call & On-Call Expectations
- Weekday call: Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM–7:30 AM (rotate every 3rd week)
- Weekend call: Friday 4:30 PM–Monday 7:30 AM (one weekend per month)
- 30-minute callback for STEMIs; IR callback varies by procedure type
- Call team has three staff members (at least one RN)
Patient Ratios & Orientation
- 16-hour unit orientation
- No float requirement
What You'll Need
Scrubs provided. Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available). COVID-19 vaccine not required.
