Cardiothoracic Operating Room – CVOR
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Circulating Nurse for its cardiothoracic surgical program. This is a 13-week travel contract offering day shifts in a fast-paced operating room environment serving adult and geriatric patients.
Shift & Schedule
- 4 x 10-hour days: Monday–Friday, 06:30–17:00
- Call: 10 days per month, including one weekend per month
- Orientation: 36 hours (scrubs provided)
Clinical Scope
You'll circulate in a 3-room suite managing complex cardiothoracic cases including:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with and without valve repair/replacement
- Aortic and mitral valve procedures
- Ascending aortic aneurysm repair
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
- Robotic thoracic surgery
- Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)
- Thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, and carotid endarterectomy
- IABP insertion and removal, myxoma removal, ectomy, and additional procedures
Patient population spans ages 20–90+.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years CVOR experience
- Current BCLS certification
- Circulating skills required
- CNOR and scrub experience preferred
- First-time travelers welcome
Important Notes
- Completion of required lab testing within 48 hours of signing
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 7 days pre-approved time off available (excludes holidays and first week)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Open to floating within/near the facility as needed
