Med Surg

Medical/Surgical – Orthopedic RN | Travel Contract | Wichita, KS

This 13-week travel assignment places you on a brand-new Medical/Surgical unit with an orthopedic and surgical focus. The unit manages post-operative patients undergoing total joint replacements and spine procedures, with a strong emphasis on traction management, hip precautions, and joint and spine protocols.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of current acute care Med/Surg or Ortho experience
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Familiarity with traction equipment preferred
• Working knowledge of Spine, Hip, and Joint Precautions preferred

Patient Population & Acuity

The unit cares for surgical and orthopedic patients across day and night shifts. The team is collaborative and well-supported, with RNs and patient care technicians working closely under charge nurse coordination.
