Cardiac Cath Lab RN
Position Overview
The facility's Cath Lab is seeking an experienced RN to join a 3-suite cardiac catheterization unit. You'll work in a fast-paced environment performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, including PCIs, TEEs, balloon pump placements, pacemakers, and event recorder insertions.
Responsibilities
- Circulate and sedate patients during procedures
- Prepare patients, place IVs, and manage all patient needs
- Collaborate with radiologic technologists and interventional cardiologists
- Document in the electronic health record pre- and post-procedure
- Each suite operates with a team of 2 RNs and 2 RAD techs; average 13 cases per day
Schedule & Call
- Currently 5×8 hour day shifts (hours staggered: 0700–1530, 0800–1630, or 0900–1730), transitioning to 4×10s
- On-call rotation: every 3rd night and every 3rd weekend; 30-minute response time required
- Full weekends every 3rd rotation
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year cardiac cath lab experience (required)
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
- Valid driver's license (50-mile radius rule applies)
Contract Details
- 13-week assignment
- 1–2 day unit-specific orientation
- Light blue scrubs provided; bring your own shoes (covers supplied)
