Telemetry RN — Night Shift | North Charleston, SC
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Guaranteed Hours: 48/week
This telemetry unit cares for a high-acuity cardiac population, including post-procedure patients following PCI, PPM, ICD placement, and cardiac ablations. Nurses manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dobutamine) and are expected to be proficient in telemetry strip interpretation.
Unit & Schedule Details
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week, including every other weekend and rotating holidays
- Float requirement: travelers float first and may be assigned to inpatient ED holds, the telemetry monitoring room, or PCU
- Bedside shift report, AIDET, and RN/MD rounding are standard practice
- Dress code: Navy scrubs
Clinical Responsibilities
- Telemetry monitoring and post-cath lab patient care
- Cardiac drip management
- Phlebotomy
- Respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) outside the ICU
- Foley catheter care and maintenance with nurse-driven removal protocols
- Discharge planning and patient education
- Care plan development each shift with physician and ancillary team collaboration
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 30 months of RN or LPN nursing experience
- At least one prior completed travel nursing assignment
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification (all required)
