Transplant Nephrology | Med/Surg | Kansas City, MO
This 13-week contract (with a longer-term option available) places you on a Transplant Nephrology unit in Kansas City, MO, caring for medical/surgical patients with renal and transplant-related diagnoses. The unit is supported by daytime unit secretaries, Patient Care Technicians, and an on-unit educator. A virtual nursing model handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to stay focused on direct patient care.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 hours guaranteed per week
- 3 weekend shifts per month required
- No on-call requirements
Clinical Details
- Patient population: nephrology, kidney transplant, renal, dialysis (dialysis performed off-unit)
- General med/surg care provided at the bedside
- Contract nurses float first per unit policy
Requirements
- Minimum degree: ADN
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- Experience in med/surg, nephrology, renal, or transplant strongly preferred
Dress Code
Royal blue scrubs; black scrub pants permitted
