Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) — Travel RN | Asheville, NC
Shift: 18:45–07:15 (Night shift)
Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week

Unit Overview
This high-acuity Surgical Trauma ICU manages complex surgical and trauma patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention. The unit is a fast-paced environment where nurses are expected to manage critically ill patients with confidence and composure.
Clinical Scope — Procedures Performed:
- Intubation/extubation, trach placement, bronchoscopy, endoscopy
- Chest tube, central line, A-line, and Foley placement
- EVD/bolt placement and management
- Proning, TPA administration, hypertonic medication administration
- CRRT/HD, irrigation and debridement, minor surgery
- Wound vac management, temperature regulation, PCA management
Scheduling & Float Requirements:
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling cycle
- Modified self-scheduling available
- Travelers float before core staff; float destinations include MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU, or Step Down
Required Qualifications:
- Valid RN license
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications
- Trauma ICU experience (Level I or II Trauma Center required)
- Surgical ICU experience
- Acute care ICU background — LTAC experience not accepted
Dress Code: All navy, all white, or navy bottoms with white top
