Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Travel RN | Asheville, NC
Nights | 13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week
This Progressive Care Unit manages a diverse, high-acuity patient population with a strong focus on neurological and trauma care. The unit provides an active clinical environment where nurses perform a wide range of procedures and work closely with an interdisciplinary team.
Shift Details
- 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required
- Float potential to stepdown and med-surg units
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Neuro and spinal assessments
- C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
- Chest tube and lumbar drain care
- PCA pump and IV infusion management
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusions
- Tracheostomy care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Neuro and/or trauma care experience (required — candidates without this background will not be considered)
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional neuro and trauma nursing experience
