Labor & Delivery RN — Asheville, NC
This Labor & Delivery position is based in Asheville, NC, within an active, high-acuity unit managing the full spectrum of obstetric care — from routine vaginal deliveries to complex, high-risk cases.
Clinical Scope
The unit handles a wide range of procedures including:
- Vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections
- D&C, cerclage, and cesarean hysterectomy
- Immediate newborn care and high-risk obstetric management
The care team includes charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and RNs on both day and night shifts.
Float Requirements
Nurses may be floated to Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Mother-Baby, or NICU.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- High-risk OB experience
- Immediate newborn care competency
- Active NRP, BLS/ALS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications
Preferred
- Circulating experience in the OR/C-section setting
Additional Details
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Weekend and on-call work available upon approval; not required
