Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This is a 13-week travel contract in a high-volume Emergency Department serving a diverse, multicultural community. The night shift runs 18:45–07:15, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Unit Overview

The ED manages a broad range of acuity, from medical presentations to behavioral health holds and complex trauma and stroke cases. The unit is supported by techs in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and , as well as unit clerks on both days and nights. Patient experience standards (including AIDET and real-time board updates) are expected on every visit.

Schedule & Float

• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling is not available; scheduling must meet department needs
• No floating outside the ED, but flexibility to work all internal sections is required

Required Certifications (before start date unless noted)

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Background in high-volume ED environments strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to rotate across all areas of the ED
