Emergency Department Nurse – Asheville, NC
Position Overview
Join a dynamic emergency department in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a 13-week contract offering a night shift (18:45–07:15) in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment.
The Role
Your responsibilities include:
- Triaging and managing patients across all ED areas
- Providing trauma and stroke care
- Monitoring cardiac patients and managing patient flow
- Communicating clearly with patients and families using evidence-based patient communication (AIDET)
- Floating flexibly within all sections of the ED as needed
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications (all required before start date)
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality, ability to adapt to a diverse patient population, and flexibility in a high-acuity environment
- Ability to coach colleagues and give real-time feedback
