Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC
Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This high-volume Emergency Department in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced Emergency RN for a night shift assignment (18:45–07:15). The contract runs 13 weeks with a start date of October 5, 2026.
About the Unit
The ED manages a broad, high-acuity patient population including trauma, stroke, and behavioral health cases. The department serves a richly multicultural community — with more than 120 languages represented locally — and operates across multiple specialized sections. Flexibility to float within all areas of the ED is required; no floating outside the ED.
Schedule & Coverage
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling is not available; scheduling is based on departmental need
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Required Certifications (prior to start unless noted)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
- Experience in a high-volume ED strongly preferred
- Strong teamwork orientation; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Comfortable working in all sections of a busy ED environment
Patient Experience
Staff are expected to use AIDET principles, keep patient boards updated, and communicate proactively with patients throughout their visit.
