Cardiac Care Unit (CVICU) – Night Shift

About the Role
The facility's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) provides specialized nursing care for patients with acute cardiac conditions, including post-operative cardiac surgery, acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, and arrhythmias. As a night shift nurse, you'll deliver high-acuity care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor hemodynamically unstable and post-surgical cardiac patients
- Manage invasive lines, ventilators, and cardiac monitoring equipment
- Administer medications, fluids, and blood products per protocol
- Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
Requirements
- Current RN license (Texas)
- ACLS and PCCN certifications (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 1–2 years ICU nursing experience preferred
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently on nights with physician and APP support
