Operating Room – 12-Hour Night Shifts
Position Overview
Join the operating room team for a 12-week contract working nights (Wednesday through Friday). This is a full-service surgical environment handling a diverse range of procedures.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, Wednesday–Friday (36 guaranteed hours per week)
- On-call: One weeknight call every 4 weeks (7 PM–7 AM) and one weekend call per 3-month period (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday; up to 24 hours)
- Cancellation policy: Up to 2 shift cancellations per 13-week contract
Clinical Scope
The facility operates 11 surgical rooms—8 OR suites and 3 endoscopy suites—managing approximately 65 cases per day. You'll assist with a full range of procedures including vascular, general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and ENT cases. Open-heart surgery is not performed here. You'll gain exposure across all OR areas with the opportunity to cross-train in endoscopy.
Equipment & Technology
The facility recently introduced the da Vinci Robot. Experience with robotic-assisted surgery is a valuable plus. You'll also work with Baxter infusion pumps and standard OR monitoring systems.
Requirements
- BLS certification (ACLS required due to moderate sedation protocols)
- Current, unexpired driver's license (50-mile radius rule applies)
- OR experience across multiple specialties preferred
- No pre-screening for OR positions
