Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract

West Burlington, IA | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 36 Hours/Week | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN position covers both a Telemetry unit and a Medical/Surgical unit, caring for adult, geriatric, and general medical/surgical patient populations. The role requires strong cardiac monitoring skills and comfort managing patients across both acuity levels.

Clinical Scope

• Telemetry and Med/Surg patient populations including adult and geriatric care
• Full nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation
• Cardiac rhythm monitoring; candidates must self-study telemetry strips prior to start and pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test during the first week — passing is required to work the assignment

Schedule & Expectations

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
• Float requirement to other non-critical-care inpatient units and the ED (boarded patients); occasional CCU float for those with critical care experience
• Float to nearby satellite campuses may be required
• Low-census call possible; on-call response required within one hour

Requirements

• Active RN license
• ACLS certification required
• Recent experience (within the last 12 months) in a comparable unit
• Influenza vaccine, TB test, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, and COVID-19 vaccine documentation required for onboarding
• Background check, drug screen, skills checklist, and references required

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week, with overtime possible
