Psychiatric Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Des Moines, IA

Shift: Monday–Friday, 11 PM–7 AM (40 hrs/week)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 12, 2026

About the Role

Floating & Schedule

You will float across Des Moines-area campuses to similar psychiatric units. No on-call; every other weekend off. You're required to work 1–2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed.

Requirements

• License: Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Experience: Minimum 15 months in psychiatric or behavioral health (recent inpatient experience highly preferred); first-time travelers accepted with 12 months of psych/BH experience
• Certifications: Active BLS (AHA)
• De-escalation Training: MOAB, MAB, or CPI preferred (can obtain during onboarding)
• Skills: Competency with restraint protocols; demonstrated de-escalation abilities

Dress Code

Navy blue, solid scrubs

Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
