Telemetry / Med-Surg RN — Night Shift | West Burlington, IA
13-Week Travel Contract | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed
This night-shift opportunity places you across Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units, providing care to adult, geriatric, and medical-surgical patient populations. The role demands strong rhythm interpretation skills and comfort managing moderate-to-high acuity patients in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week; overtime possible
- Every-other-weekend rotation required
Clinical Responsibilities
- Apply the full nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, evaluation) across Telemetry and Med-Surg patient populations
- Interpret cardiac rhythms; a Basic Dysrhythmia test-out is administered during the first week — self-study of telemetry strips is expected upon acceptance
- Float is required to non-critical-care inpatient units, including the Emergency Department for boarded patients; candidates with critical care experience may occasionally float to the ICU
Float & Call Expectations
- Occasional on-call placement during low-census periods; must be able to arrive on-site within one hour if called in
- May be required to float to a secondary campus
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- ACLS certification
- Telemetry/Med-Surg experience in a like unit within the last 12 months
- Electronic health record experience in a comparable system required
