Med/Surg – High-Acuity Surgery/Trauma Floor | Atlanta, GA
Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts, 3 Days/Week
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks | Start Date: November 16, 2026
This high-acuity Med/Surg position is on a busy surgery and trauma floor managing a complex patient population that includes post-surgical patients, gunshot wound victims, and quadriplegic and paraplegic patients. Strong assessment skills and comfort with trauma-related care are essential.
Schedule & Hours
- Night shift only; no block schedules
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- No requests for time off (RTO) will be accommodated
- Mandatory holiday coverage: Travelers must work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, plus either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Unit Support
- Nursing support techs and phlebotomists on unit
- Unit secretary support during nights
- Structured nurse handoff process between ED and admitting nurses
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery/Trauma experience
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in electronic charting required
- Active RN license applicable to Georgia
