Charge RN – Night Shift Emergency Room
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Charge RN for the Emergency Room on night shift at the facility in New Hampshire. This is a 36-hour/week position with a 13-week contract.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
- Every other weekend
- No on-call requirement
Clinical Scope
You'll serve as charge nurse in a busy emergency department, managing both ED operations and float responsibilities to the Medical/Surgical Stepdown unit (approximately 60% ED charge duties and 40% critical access charge backup). You'll coordinate patient flow, support nursing staff, and provide direct patient care during high-volume shifts. This role requires comfort with the full spectrum of emergency cases and the ability to manage stepdown-level patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years current Emergency Room experience
- Proven charge nurse experience (required)
- Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital setting
- Current New Hampshire RN license
- Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Active TNCC certification
- Willingness to float to Medical/Surgical Stepdown and assist with those patient populations
- Travel experience strongly preferred
