Medical-Surgical Nurse – Cardiac Focus
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical Nurse to join a busy cardiac unit for a 13-week assignment. You'll provide direct care to acutely ill cardiac patients in a fast-paced environment that values clinical expertise and compassionate nursing.
Shift & Schedule
- Three 12-hour AM shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- 36 hours/week
- Available start dates: Every Monday
- Navy blue scrubs required
Clinical Scope
You'll care for patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, coronary artery disease, and those post-angioplasty or post-heart transplant. You'll administer vasoactive drips (Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone), manage diuretics (Lasix, Bumex), and work with Heparin and insulin infusions. Peritoneal dialysis experience is required.
Requirements
- Current RN license (Georgia or compact state license in hand)
- Minimum 18 months of medical-surgical nursing experience within the past 3 years
- Proctored rhythm identification test upon start (two attempts allowed; not multiple choice)
- Must pass a rhythm identification test upon arrival
