Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Asheville, NC
Shift: Nights, 18:45–07:15 (4×12)
Contract Duration: 6 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 48/week

This busy Emergency Department serves a highly diverse, multicultural community and is known for its collaborative, welcoming team culture. The unit manages a broad range of medical and behavioral health presentations at high volume, requiring nurses who are adaptable, confident, and skilled at working across all areas of the ED.
Unit Scope:
- Medical and behavioral health patient populations
- Cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing areas supported by techs and unit clerks
- Every other weekend commitment required; block scheduling not available
- Float within all sections of the ED; no floating outside the department
Required Certifications (prior to start):
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of RN experience, with a minimum of 1 year in an ED setting
- High-volume emergency department experience strongly preferred
- Team-oriented with the ability to coach peers and give real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work all areas of the ED
Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour on-unit shift
Dress Code: Navy scrubs (RNs)
Patient Experience Standards: AIDET communication model; patient boards updated throughout each visit
