Medical/Surgical – Renal Unit | Night Shift | Nashville, TN
Contract: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 12, 2026
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (nights) | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
This night-shift Med/Surg opportunity focuses on a dedicated renal unit serving adult patients (18 and older) requiring peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and general medical care. The unit operates with a multidisciplinary team of RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Nurse Interns, with the RN holding full clinical accountability for their patient team.
Clinical Scope:
- Renal patient population: peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis management
- General medical patients across young adult to older adult age ranges
- High attention to fluid balance, renal labs, and dialysis-related complications
Float Requirements:
Travelers may be asked to float to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on census and acuity. You will always be notified prior to your scheduled shift if a float is required.
Required for Submission:
- Valid RN license (Nursys verification)

- 2 professional references
Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Onboarding Includes:
- Medical-surgical and EKG competency assessments
- Standard health clearances (immunizations, TB testing, drug screen, fit test, background check)
This is a strong fit for an RN with solid Med/Surg experience and comfort with renal patient populations. Prior dialysis unit experience is a plus.
