Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled RN to join its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a broad range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac rhythm and vital sign monitoring, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound assessment, pain management, and patient mobilization
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Conduct patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Work collaboratively with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree (ADN) accepted per facility policy
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Location: Paducah, KY
