Medical-Surgical / Pulmonary — Travel RN | Des Moines, IA

Shift: Nights | 4x12-hour shifts | 48 hours/week (36-hour option available)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 12

About the Unit

This Med-Surg/Pulmonary unit provides care for patients with complex respiratory and medical-surgical needs. Nurses manage pulmonary patients, including those requiring Bi-PAP support, trach care, and heparin drips. The unit may also care for COVID-positive patients.

Float Requirement: Travel nurses will float across multiple campuses within the health system.

Schedule & On-Call

• 4x12-hour night shifts; 48 hrs/week standard (36 hrs/week may be accommodated)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation: 1–2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays required (unless unit is closed)
• No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of Med-Surg experience
• Pulmonary patient care experience
• Recent/current Charge RN experience
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification
• Valid driver's license

Highly Preferred

• Experience with ventilated/Bi-PAP patients and trach care
• Prior trauma experience

Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC)

License: Active Iowa RN or Compact

First-time travelers with 2+ years of Med-Surg experience will be considered.
