Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract | Des Moines, IA

Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 hrs/week (FIRM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 12

Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Holiday Rotation: Required to work 1–2 holidays per rotation unless unit is closed

This Med/Surg Telemetry unit cares for a broad variety of medical-surgical patients and is building a culture rooted in adaptability, teamwork, and growth. Travelers are expected to float across multiple campuses and contribute positively to a team that values mentorship and shared learning.

Clinical Details:

• Patient population: General med/surg — all patient types
• Telemetry monitoring: Remote tech-supported
• Drips: Heparin administration required
• Scrubs: Navy blue, solid color

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 24 months of recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• At least one completed travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Recent charge nurse experience required
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification
• Heparin administration experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Telemetry/cardiac background
• Preceptor experience

• Professional reference from charge/supervisor or nurse manager within the past 24 months
• Driver's license (50-mile radius minimum from facility required)
