Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Monday–Friday, 3x12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)
- Start Date: November 23, 2026
About the Unit
This Med-Surg/Post-Op unit cares for a patient population that includes post-surgical and spine care patients. Nurses on this unit are expected to manage heparin drips and navigate varied post-operative needs. Float assignments across multiple campuses are required.
Schedule & Commitments
- Weekend rotation: every third weekend
- Holiday rotation: required to work 1–2 of the upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of Med-Surg/Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
- Strong heparin drip experience
- Post-operative surgical experience
- Spine care experience
- Minimum 3 months of current travel nursing experience within the past 12 months (first-time travelers are not eligible)
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- AHA or ARC BLS certification (active)
Preferred
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the past 24 months
