Cardiac Telemetry RN — Travel Contract | Arlington, VA
Night Shift | 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13 Weeks
This medical cardiac step-down unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions. Nurses manage complex patients presenting with CHF, rule-out and post-MI, new-onset and unstable angina, pericardial disease, cardiac drug toxicity, A-fib, syncope of suspected cardiac origin, treated/stable aortic dissection, suspected pacemaker/ICD malfunction, post-ICD/pacemaker insertion, chest pain of cardiac origin, dysrhythmias, and patients requiring continuous cardiac medication infusions or oral antidysrhythmic therapy. The unit also accommodates general med/surg patients.
Schedule & Contract Details
- 13-week contract beginning October 5, 2026
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; 36 or 48 hours/week
- Approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- No routine on-call requirement for this unit
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact license — must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Cardiac telemetry experience within the past year
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- 6+ months of electronic health record experience within the past 12 months (recent and verifiable)
Vaccinations
- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Flu vaccine required October 1 – March 31 (medical exemptions considered)
Additional Notes
- All travelers must attend an onboarding EHR training class; experienced users may qualify for an accelerated option
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; calendar-week-off requests are strongly discouraged
- Holiday work should be expected
