NICU
NICU Travel Nurse — Greenville, SC | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This high-acuity NICU position cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, managing a wide range of complex diagnoses and surgical conditions. The unit supports a full spectrum of Level II and Level III care.
Shift Options
- 4x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) with no call, or
- 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) with a minimum of one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Float to other NICU units or campuses may be required based on census needs
Patient Population & Diagnoses
Neonates presenting with HIE, RDS/RFS, diaphragmatic hernia, TEF, duodenal atresia, abdominal wall defects, myelomeningocele, ROP, NAS/drug exposure, hypoglycemia, and sepsis.
Special Procedures
- Therapeutic whole-body cooling
- Chest tube management
- Surgical repair of congenital anomalies (excluding cardiac)
- Tracheostomy management
- Avastin administration and laser eye surgery
Clinical Skills Required
UAC/UVC management, high-frequency ventilation, bubble CPAP, HFNC, nitric oxide, arterial line management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, colostomy/ostomy management, neonatal dosage calculations, and more.
Requirements
- NICU Level II and III experience required (minimum 2 years)
- Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers
- Active South Carolina RN license
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
- Minimum 1 year of recent electronic medical record experience required
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
Orientation: 40 hours (Mondays); pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 billable hours).
