NICU Travel RN – Night Shift | Greenville, SC | 13-Week Contract

This high-acuity NICU opportunity is ideal for an experienced neonatal nurse comfortable managing complex, critically ill neonates across a broad range of diagnoses and specialized procedures.

Shift Options

  • 4x12s, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, no call required
  • 3x12s, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with a minimum of one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly

Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Float to other NICU units or campuses may be required based on census needs.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

The unit cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and beyond, managing conditions including HIE, RDS, diaphragmatic hernia, TEF, duodenal atresia, abdominal wall defects, myelomeningocele, ROP, neonatal abstinence syndrome, sepsis, and hypoglycemia.

Special Procedures

  • Full body therapeutic cooling
  • Chest tube management
  • Surgical repair of all anomalies (excluding cardiac)
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Avastin administration and laser eye surgery

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; NICU II and III experience required
  • Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers
  • Active South Carolina RN license
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with an electronic health record system

Additional Details

  • Orientation: 40 hours, begins Mondays
  • Pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of system access; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable
  • Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Travelers must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible at full rate
