NICU Travel Nurse — Night Shift | Greenville, SC | 13-Week Contract

This high-acuity NICU assignment offers experienced neonatal nurses the opportunity to care for some of the most complex neonatal patients, from 22 weeks gestation through surgical recovery.

Shift Options

  • 4x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) with no call requirement, OR
  • 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) with at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly
  • Weekend coverage required on a rotating every-other-weekend basis
  • Float to other NICU units or facilities may be required

Patient Population & Diagnoses

Neonates presenting with abdominal wall defects, HIE, RDS/RFS, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, TEF, duodenal atresia, diaphragmatic hernia, urethral stenosis, myelomeningocele, and ROP.

Special Procedures

  • Full body cooling (therapeutic hypothermia)
  • Chest tube management
  • Surgical repair of congenital anomalies (excluding cardiac)
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Avastin administration and laser eye surgery

Clinical Skills Required

UAC/UVC management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, high-frequency ventilation, bubble CPAP, HFNC, jet ventilation, nitric oxide administration, IV vasopressors, central line care, colostomy/ileostomy management, neonatal dosage calculations, and VP shunt awareness.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU II and III experience (no first-time travelers)
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE (all current)
  • Active South Carolina RN license
  • At least 1 year of experience with electronic medical record documentation
  • Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required

Orientation: 40 hours, beginning on a Monday
