NICU Travel RN — Night Shift | Greenville, SC | 13-Week Contract
This high-acuity NICU cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, managing a broad range of complex diagnoses including hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), respiratory distress syndrome, abdominal wall defects, tracheoesophageal fistula, diaphragmatic hernia, duodenal atresia, myelomeningocele, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, and sepsis.
Shift Options
- 4x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30), no call required
- 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) with a minimum of one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly
Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs.
Clinical Scope
- Full body therapeutic hypothermia (cooling)
- Chest tube placement and management
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Surgical repair support for anomalies (excluding cardiac)
- Avastin administration and laser eye surgery support
- High-frequency ventilation, HFOV, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, jet ventilation
- UAC/UVC management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome, phototherapy, ostomy care, VP shunt management
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; NICU II and III experience required
- Active South Carolina RN license
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
- Minimum 1 year of experience with an electronic health record system
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
Additional Details
- Float to other NICU units or campuses may be required based on census
- Pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 billable hours)
- Orientation begins on Mondays
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
