Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Greensboro, NC
This 16-week travel assignment places you in a general medical progressive care unit where all beds are telemetry-monitored and supported by a centralized cardiac monitoring department. The unit primarily serves adult patients and manages a broad acuity range, including stroke, sepsis, renal disorders, endocrine conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders. Some patients require extended, high-dependency care.
Schedule
- Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3×12-hour shifts
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- No call
- Float to other system campuses required as needed
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/progressive care experience
- Strong cardiac telemetry skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Peripheral line and PICC line care and management
- Titration of cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, heparin protocols, and blood product administration
Additional Details
- First-time travelers welcome
- All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
- Active RN license must be in hand at time of submission
- Electronic medical record experience required
- Third-party education verification required
- No candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
- Orientation: approximately 36 hours; non-billable modules average 2–4 hours
