Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse – 18-Week Contract
Position Overview
Join the stepdown unit as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse providing care to patients transitioning from acute care. This is an 18-week winter coverage assignment; 13-week contracts are also available.
Shift & Schedule
- 3x12-hour rotating shifts: Days (07:00–19:30) and nights (19:00–07:30)
- Shifts will be honored based on operational needs
- Must work at least every other holiday
Scope of Practice
You'll care for stepdown patients with varying acuity levels. Potential exists to float to similar patient populations within the facility to support census and patient needs.
Requirements
- License: Permanent Ohio license or active compact state license (in hand at submission)
- Experience: Minimum 12 months permanent nursing experience in progressive care or stepdown
- Certifications (active and in hand): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Orientation & Assessments
During onboarding, you'll complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments. Both must be passed to remain on assignment (two attempts allowed).
Submission Requirements
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director required
- Background check must be clear
- BCI/FBI fingerprints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
