Labor & Delivery Nurse
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Unit
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit is a fast-paced environment managing expectant mothers through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. You'll care for patients across the full spectrum of obstetric services, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, , and antepartum management.
Patient Care & Ratios
- 2–3 antepartum patients per nurse
- Clinical practice follows AWHONN guidelines
Required Skills
- Strong labor management and monitoring capabilities
- Proficiency circulating cesarean sections
- Ability to perform fetal monitoring, assess labor progression, and manage the delivery process independently
Preferred Experience
- Vaginal delivery and c-section management
- assessment
- Iron infusions and other antepartum protocols
Staffing & Flexibility
- On-call requirement: 1–2 shifts per schedule
- Float availability to mother-baby unit as needed (resource coverage only)
- You'll work alongside 8–10 RNs, OB technicians, and a charge nurse per shift
