Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Oakland, CA

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This Emergency Department opportunity places you in a high-volume, fast-paced environment serving a broad patient population — neonates through geriatrics — across a full-acuity department with both main ED and fast-track areas.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12s
  • Intermittent weekend coverage required
  • 2 of 3 upcoming major holidays required
  • No on-call

Clinical Scope

The unit manages high-acuity presentations including trauma cases, dysrhythmias, and critically ill patients requiring vasopressor support and ventilator management. You will , stabilize, and manage a diverse patient mix at a daily visit volume of approximately 170.

Required Skills

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Blood product administration
  • IV vasopressor management
  • Care of ventilated patients
  • and phlebotomy

Required Certifications

  • ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS

Preferred Certifications

  • NIHSS, TNCC

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience; 18 months considered if from a comparable facility
  • Level I or II trauma experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted

Additional Requirements

  • Valid California RN license required at time of submission
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • MAB, Team, or CPI certification must be obtained prior to start
  • Candidates may float within the hospital as needed
  • 36-hour orientation; non-billable modules completed during orientation
  • 75-mile radius rule applies
