Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Oakland, CA
Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Emergency Department opportunity places you in a high-volume, fast-paced environment serving a broad patient population — neonates through geriatrics — across a full-acuity department with both main ED and fast-track areas.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12s
- Intermittent weekend coverage required
- 2 of 3 upcoming major holidays required
- No on-call
Clinical Scope
The unit manages high-acuity presentations including trauma cases, dysrhythmias, and critically ill patients requiring vasopressor support and ventilator management. You will , stabilize, and manage a diverse patient mix at a daily visit volume of approximately 170.
Required Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Blood product administration
- IV vasopressor management
- Care of ventilated patients
- and phlebotomy
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS
Preferred Certifications
- NIHSS, TNCC
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience; 18 months considered if from a comparable facility
- Level I or II trauma experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Requirements
- Valid California RN license required at time of submission
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- MAB, Team, or CPI certification must be obtained prior to start
- Candidates may float within the hospital as needed
- 36-hour orientation; non-billable modules completed during orientation
- 75-mile radius rule applies
