Med/Surg Telemetry – Travel RN | Wilmington, NC | Nights
This 13-week (extendable to 26 weeks) night shift position is on an adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry unit managing a broad range of medical and post-surgical diagnoses, including diabetes, COPD, CHF, sepsis, ia, renal failure, GI bleed, encephalopathy, dementia, and various surgical recovery cases.
Shift & Schedule
- 4x12-hour nights, 18:45–07:15
- 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Self-scheduling; up to 7 days RTO per contract (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
Float & Staffing
- Float may be required to a main campus location approximately 30 minutes away
- Candidate must be comfortable floating within and near the facility
- Disaster/storm team participation may be required during catastrophic events
Required Skills & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or MS/Tele experience
- BLS and NIHSS required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Core skills: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, IV starts, PICC and central line management, phlebotomy, wound care/wound vac, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, pre/post hemodialysis care, heparin, insulin, and PCA
Preferred
- ACLS, Telemetry certification, and prior charge experience
- Experience with post-MI, post-angiogram, tracheostomy care, CBI, port access, and ABG interpretation

- Scrubs: Navy blue or white
