Med/Surg Telemetry — Travel RN | Night Shift | Batavia, NY

This 13-week night shift assignment (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12) places you on a busy med/surg telemetry unit caring primarily for adult and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include respiratory, cardiac, GI, and neurological conditions, with potential overflow from orthopedic patients.

Care Delivery Model

The unit operates on a team-based model pairing 1 RN with 1 LPN and 1 PCT for up to 9 patients. Modified teams are used when a complete team is unavailable.

Schedule & Float

  • Every other weekend required (or 4 weekend shifts/month)
  • Float to other med/surg units required
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Required Certifications

  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Active New York RN license required at time of submission

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Prior charge experience preferred
  • Electronic health record proficiency is a hard requirement for this role
  • First-time travelers accepted

Clinical Skills

Candidates should be comfortable with telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip management, central line and PICC line care, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, wound care/wound vac, PCA management, tracheostomy care, and heparin protocols, among other acute care competencies.

Scrubs: Navy blue and/or white (any combination)

Orientation: 12 hours on-site; pre-start modules required (up to 10 hours total)
