Emergency Department RN — Fullerton, CA

13-Week Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts

This is a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department managing approximately 230 patient visits per day. The unit sees a broad patient population across all ages, with a primary focus on geriatric and adult patients and approximately 10% pediatric cases (pediatric patients requiring higher-level care are transferred to a children's facility).

Clinical Scope

• Presentations include respiratory emergencies, stroke, abdominal pain, cardiac conditions, and sepsis
• Stroke and STEMI-certified department
• Bedside procedures, wound care, drip titration, and patient transport (MRI, nuclear medicine, etc.)
• Float coverage to telemetry hold and ICU hold units as needed

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (12:00 PM – 12:30 AM)
• Weekend availability required — expect to exceed every-other-weekend; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle
• Holiday flexibility required; specific RTO must be submitted upfront

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department RN experience *(hard stop — no exceptions below this threshold)*
• Stroke experience required *(hard stop)*
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (required); TNCC and CEN or CPN (preferred)
• Limited pediatric experience is acceptable
• Valid RN license required prior to submission; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• No on-call required
