Emergency Room Registered Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Emergency Room RN for night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract.Clinical Scope
You'll care for diverse patient populations—primarily adults and geriatric patients, with ~10% pediatric cases (transferred to specialty pediatric facilities). Case types include respiratory emergencies, stroke, abdominal pain, cardiac events, and sepsis. The facility is a Magnet-designated Stroke and STEMI Center.
Staffing & Schedule
- Shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour nights
- Weekend Requirement: Must work at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle; may exceed every other weekend based on unit needs
- Float: May float to telemetry hold and ICU hold as needed
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- One pre-approved time-off request must be submitted at time of application
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1.5 years emergency nursing (2 years preferred); stroke experience is mandatory
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (required); TNCC and CEN or CPN (preferred)
- License: Current compact license required at submission
- Travel Requirement: Valid travel nursing background required
