Echo Sonographer – Cardiology

Position Overview

The facility's Cardiology Department is seeking an Echo Sonographer for a 13-week contract to support the clinical team in a hospital and office-based setting. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Weekend call required: 1 on, 4 off (Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 AM start)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality echocardiographic imaging across all adult modalities: transthoracic echo, stress echo, and transesophageal echo (TEE)
  • Prepare patients and equipment; explain procedures and answer patient questions
  • Assist physicians with data interpretation and clinical decision-making
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with facility protocols and standards of care
  • Provide patient education and act as a patient advocate throughout care delivery
  • Organize exam rooms, manage equipment, monitor supplies, and maintain a clean, efficient workspace
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support a timely, organized workflow
  • Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, providers, clinical staff, and practice management
  • Stay current with professional competencies per ARDMS and CCI standards

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in all adult echocardiography imaging modalities (transthoracic, stress, TEE)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer: R.D.C.S. or R.C.S. (ARDMS or CCI); registry required within one year if not currently held
  • Current BLS certification (Healthcare Provider level)
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and reliability as a team member
