Medical-Surgical RN | Travel Contract | Brooklyn, NY

Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 7, 2026

This Med/Surg travel nursing role is based in Brooklyn, NY, supporting adult patients across a range of medical and surgical conditions including cardiac, respiratory, diabetic, and post-operative diagnoses. The unit manages both acute and pre/post-surgical care, with an emphasis on thorough assessment, timely intervention, and coordinated discharge planning.

Clinical Scope:

• Pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and catheter insertion
• Telemetry monitoring and response to changes in patient condition
• Infection control, fall prevention, and patient/family education
• Collaboration with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge

Float Requirement: Candidates must be available to float to units of equal competency, including ED hold for stable admitted patients.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting; most recent experience within the past year
• New York State RN License (primary source verification required)
• AHA BLS required
• AHA ACLS required (Queens placement; candidates should be prepared)
• ADN required; BSN preferred
• Strong skills in physical assessment, wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care

English proficiency (read, write, speak) required.
