Operating Room Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the operating room team. You will provide circulating and/or scrub nursing support across a variety of general surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for surgical cases
- Perform pre-operative assessments and verify surgical site, consent, and procedure per protocol
- Conduct accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor patient status and safety throughout surgical procedures
- Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper function
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and post-operative handoff to recovery staff
- Document intraoperative care accurately, including counts, medications, and patient status
Requirements
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of general OR experience
- Ability to function in circulating and/or scrub roles across multiple surgical specialties
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Position Details
- Shift: 4 x 10 hour days
- Schedule: Days (no weekends)
- Call: Up to 40 hours on a 6-week rotation
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 18, 2026
