Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Location: Louisville, KY
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit. You will provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with acute cardiac and other complex conditions. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, and the confidence to escalate care promptly when patient condition changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously; identify and respond to arrhythmias
- Administer cardiac medications including drips and antiarrhythmics per physician orders
- Assess and document patient responses to clinical interventions
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning
- Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
- Ensure adherence to infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Manage a typical patient load per unit acuity guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years acute care inpatient telemetry experience
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
