Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Schedule: Every other weekend

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit. You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with acute cardiac and other conditions, working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and assess patients with cardiac and acute conditions
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care as needed
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and participate in rapid response/code interventions
• Collaborate with cardiologists and physicians on individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load per unit acuity and staffing guidelines

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years acute care telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications
• Experience with the facility's EMR system
